TLD lore

took me ages to realize all this happened cuz of a solar flare. never played wintermute, never made it past chapter 3 of the story mode (I like figuring things out thru subtle world building details). so what are the odds a catastrophic event like this could collapse world economics and the entire human pop falls apart? ngl I never saw TLD as a post apocalyptic survival game, thought you were just making it out of a once inhabitable evacuated island after a plane crash. this changes everything.
