Empty Room

I scream into a empty room, hoping one day my message gets to you. The images of us are still stuck inside my head, like the shadows dancing on the walls beside my bed. It always gets worse through the night, as my mind is the only thing I ever have to fight. For I have always loved you without conditions, having you here is my only ambition. Til death do us part from this existence into the next, finding you again in every single lifetime would be my only flex. I carried you both for 9 months long, it pains me every single day that you are gone. Gone from sight but never from memory, as I have started to age and become leathery. It's been five years, not a day that goes by when I'm not in tears. I miss the sounds of your voice and being within your presence, for I have been stuck in what feels like a lifetime of public penance. I bare the scars physically and mentally of those who have done me wrong, all I can hear is a very sad song. A parents heart has been mangled and children's too, for we were a easy target of what people like them can do. Neither parent nor child did anything to deserve it, for adults wepaonized a situation they deemed fit. Now parent and children suffer silently in the night, I scream I love you, I miss you with all my might. The damage has been done and nobody has won, I just hope for another day when my eyes meet my sons. -MK
