Autism and child at heart
I am autistic and have social anxiety. I also have 2 jobs, I am independent, and try to make friends. Keyword: try 😂 Most of my friends growing up were from books and movies... My imagination was wild. I still have special interests specifically surrounding things that peers my age may not be interested in. I am high functioning, so I hide it from most people but if I tell someone about my ASD that means I trust them. One of my favorite things is musicals and I obsess over it. I like the family friendly things best because I am sensitive to "adult" content. Special interests have also included animals and animation. I had trouble connecting with other girls in school because they seemed more interested in boys than in my strange interests (for example, insects which I am still fascinated by) I don't want "normal", I just want friends who understand my weirdness and accept it.
